Hurricane Preparedness Loan

This year, we’re taking your storm season readiness to the next level. We've increased our loan amount by $500, so you can now borrow up to $1,500 to help secure your home, protect your family, and stay safe when it matters most.

And we’re not stopping there — for the first time ever, funding begins a full month early, starting May 1st! That means more time, more support, and more peace of mind as we head into hurricane season.

Quick Facts:

• Loan Amount: Up to $1,500

• Term: 12 months

• Disbursement Date: May 1, 2025

• One-time $35 non-refundable application fee (due before processing)

3. Submit your recent paycheck stubs via:

Bi-weekly payment is $65.62 at 17.99% APR for 12 months with credit insurance. This estimate assumes the loan is disbursed on 5/1/25, with bi-weekly payments starting 6/6/25. To qualify, members must have five years of continuous membership, be current on all accounts, have no delinquencies of 60 days or more on any JPEFCU loan in the past 12 months, & must not have caused a loss to the credit union or be in default (including missing insurance coverage on vehicle or mortgage loans). Only one Hurricane Preparedness Loan (HPL) is allowed per member. If you have an existing HPL, the balance will be deducted from the new loan proceeds. Members may have no more than two non-credit qualifying loans at a time. This is offered as a courtesy to members in good standing & is not automatically approved.

How to Weather Any Emergency

• Have cash ready as soon as you become aware of a storm in the Gulf of Mexico

• Keep supply of personal checks available. Delivery of check orders usually takes 5-7 days

• Sign up for direct deposit to ensure your paycheck is deposited into your JPEFCU account as soon as possible

• Sign up for JPEFCU’s electronic services that include GeauxJEFF, Bill Pay, e-Statements, Mobile Deposit, Mobile Wallet, and alerts

• Order ATM & VISA Debit Cards well in advance to ensure you have “cash back” and purchase capability when you need it

• Apply for a JPEFCU VISA Credit Card to have purchasing power if evacuation is needed

• Download the JPEFCU Mobile Banking App to have access to your accounts from your phone 24/7
